I'm a firm believer in that most of the learning happens outside of the classroom. Similar to sports, any aspiring athlete will not be competitive if the majority of the practice time occurs during official training sessions with team and/or coach. In addition to long term (years), regular (daily), and focused (sometimes painfully intense) practice sessions, we need active rest periods to digest conceptually difficult information. I have put together a continuously growing list of books and podcasts that I enjoy to relax my mind:

Books

Guns, Germs, and Steel - Jared Diamond
The Tipping Point - Malcolm Gladwell
Outliers - Malcolm Gladwell
Freakonomics - Stephen J. Dubner, Steven D. Levitt
Economics In One Lesson - Henry Hazlitt
David and Goliath - Malcolm Gladwell
Mismeasure of Man - Stephen Jay Gould
Thinking Fast and Slow – Daniel Kahneman
